A microsystem is a miniaturised device capable of performing computation alongside sensing and actuation. Examples of microsystems include lab-on-chip for DNA sequencing, inkjet printer heads and air-bag sensors. This talk will give an overview of research issues in microsystems, with a particular emphasis on current research in Scottish universities.
